Walton County citizens urged to get out and vote in upcoming county elections and primaries
Walton County, FL—With just five days until the start of in-person early voting, Trey Nick is encouraging concerned citizens of Walton County to get out and vote in upcoming county elections and party primaries, with a reminder that votes are now more crucial than ever.
“As a proud Walton County native with a deep-rooted family history of service, I am fully committed to protecting the Choctawhatchee Bay, fostering economic growth, supporting local businesses, and advocating for better infrastructure,” says Nick, who is running for County Commissioner in District 1. “I will bring the same energy and dedication that I put into my small business to civic endeavors that serve our community.”
Here's everything you need to know to make sure your vote counts:
Early Voting Details:
August 10 to August 17
Saturday, August 10th (8:30 am - 4:30 pm)
Sunday, August 11th (1:00 pm - 9:00 pm)
Mon - Sat, August 12th -17th (8:30 am - 4:30 pm)
How and Where to Vote Early:
Where: Early voting locations in Walton County include:
Freeport City Hall
Faith Assembly Church
South Walton Courthouse Annex
DeFuniak Springs Courthouse
How: Simply bring a valid ID and head to your designated early voting location. Voters without valid ID to vote, or who may otherwise be ineligible, have the option to vote a provisional ballot. Please notify the poll worker if you need to update your registration. They will assist you with completing the necessary paperwork to update your record. If you are in line at the polling place when the polls close, you will be permitted to cast a ballot.

Avoid long lines: Voting early helps you avoid a long wait on Election Day (August 20).
A more convenient option: With early voting, you get to choose a time, day, or location that is most convenient for your busy schedule.
Ensure your vote is counted: Early voting is a good way of making sure your vote is counted, even if unexpected events prevent you from voting on Election Day.
